People United for a Better Sacramento (also known as PUBS) was incorporated in 2004 under the leadership of Assembly Member Dave Jones (then Sacramento City Council member). For years, we have worked together to win significant victories such as the Sacramento City Living Wage, Sanitation District infill incentive fees, and Sacramento City and County Inclusionary Housing ordinances.
The Board and other members of People United share progressive values and are active members of community organizations working for civil rights, environment, affordable housing, social justice, labor, senior issues, ethnic issues, neighborhoods, smart growth, disability rights, and transportation. People United will grow and evolve to harness and reflect the energy and interests of its members. The mission of People United is to organize and mobilize the community as an ongoing force for progressive change in Sacramento. There is strength in numbers and organization--please join People United!
